Balanced Dialogue
Uncover opportunities for respectful conversations with people across divides, or facilitate them for your organization or school. Through years of work with key partners like Living Room Conversations, Newsweek, Listen First Foundation, and America Talks, we help people to see and honestly consider different perspectives — and ultimately make the best decisions.

Why fund our work?

There are times in history where events collide and create the opportunity for major change. The recent political and religious violence in the US, from the assassinations of Charlie Kirk and Melissa Hortman to attacks on other political leaders across the political spectrum and mass killings at churches, people have had enough.

On November 6, Newsweek and AllSides will co-host the National Roundtable on Political Violence, inviting Americans to meet with their political opposites and take action.

An estimated 10,000 people will join the event online, be paired with their opposites in small groups of 4-6 people each, engage in live video conversations with each other, and conclude with commitments to action.

We forget that there are things each of us can do on political violence — on social media, in our communities and schools, with our friends, as part of organizations, in our daily lives.

Let’s remember these together, and be the change we want to see.

How do we measure success?

Success is authentic connection. Any Roundtable event is a success if people show up, share their perspective, and listen to others.

We measure the impact of a Roundtable conversation through pre- and post-event surveys. Results are shared with attendees and meeting organizers.

Who are we?

The AllSides team includes people across the political spectrum committed to enabling an informed and empathetic society. On Nov. 6, we are partnering with Newsweek to hold the National Roundtable on Political Violence to commit to courage over chaos. The dialogue is guided by experts at Living Room Conversations.

Where do we work?

AllSides serves a national, politically diverse audience. Our tools and services are used across society by individuals, media, businesses, educators, civic groups and elected officials.

Why are we featured in Measurements and Tech Focus Area?

AllSides is recognized in the Measurements and Tech Focus Area because of its innovative use of technology and data to combat media bias and reduce political polarization.

AllSides leverages technology to:

  • Highlight contrasting narratives around the same topic across the political spectrum.
  • Expose hidden bias in mainstream and alternative media sources.
  • Quantify polarization and media slant, helping users build awareness and critical thinking.
  • Surface underrepresented stories and perspectives, ensuring a fuller and more accurate picture of national conversation.
  • Enable deliberative dialogue across differences

Our commitment to measurement is not only technical — it’s civic. AllSides systematically reveals how information environments shape beliefs and behaviors, offering a model for responsible media transparency and public accountability in the digital age. In doing so, we exemplify how data and tech can be used to strengthen democratic resilience.
